Pastors Nece and James Johnson-Hill are the bold, encouraging, life-giving senior pastors of Agape Church.
Dr. James Johnson-Hill is from St. Louis, MO. He is a gifted communicator and teacher who has the ability to communicate to people from all walks of life. His sense of humor, combined with his in-depth Bible teaching, gives the listener the tools to transform their lives from the inside out.
Pastor Nece is a native to SLO county. Her background in early education is what drives the agapeKIDS ministry. Her focus is on building the local church, reaching all people with the Gospel, and developing passionate followers of Jesus.
Despite their vastly different backgrounds, they share this same passion: to see people discover their God-given destiny and united to their purpose. They have given their lives to helping others find fulfillment.
Between the two of them, they have over 30 years of ministry experience. Before returning to San Luis Obispo, Pastor James and Nece planted Agape Church of Jones County in Laurel, MS.
Despite Pastor Nece being a San Francisco 49ers fan and Pastor James declaring that the Dallas Cowboys are God’s favorite team, they are happily married for 24 years. Together, they have three adult children: Samuel, Micah, Ezekiel, while their youngest, Gabriel, resides with them in San Luis.
