Pastors James & Nece Hill are the senior pastors of Agape Church in San Luis Obispo, CA. Pastor James served as an Associate Pastor of Agape SLO for 13 years. Together with a team of 12 people, Agape SLO and the Association of Related Churches (ARC), they founded Agape Church in Laurel, MS in 2010. Pastor James holds a Doctor of Ministry degree program with Andersonville Theological Seminary. Nece holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and is passionate about reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus. Pastors James & Nece have been in ministry together for over 24 years and have a passion to build a life-giving local church that influences individuals and the world. They have four children - Samuel, Micah, Ezekiel and Gabriel.
Andy & Dawnna Pfarr
Agape Student Ministry (ASM) Directors
Andy and Dawnna Pfarr have been married for nearly 22 years and are proud to call the Central Coast their lifelong home. Their story together began 27 years ago when they were first introduced by their youth pastor—Pastor James—which makes it all the more special that they now serve as Student Ministry Directors at Agape Church.
With a shared passion for reaching the next generation, Andy and Dawnna are committed to building up and pouring into students during one of the most important seasons of life. They believe this generation needs truth, love, and real connection more than ever, and they are honored to help create a safe, fun, and faith-filled environment where students can grow in their identity and relationship with Jesus.
Whether they’re leading a Bible study, playing games, or simply hanging out and having real conversations, Andy and Dawnna love every moment with their students. Outside of ministry, they enjoy time with their three amazing children, exploring the outdoors, and hosting game nights with friends and family.

Sam & Payton wright
Agape Worship Directors
Samuel and Payton Wright serve as the Worship Director and Volunteer Food Bank Coordinator at Agape Church in San Luis Obispo, CA. They live in Shell Beach and share a deep passion for seeing God’s love poured out in their community.
Samuel grew up as a pastor’s kid to Tom and Terri Wright and has been part of worship teams for most of his life, playing drums, keys, and guitar. Alongside his ministry role, he works full-time in the window and blinds business.
Payton holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Leadership from Hope College and serves as the Communications Manager for Operation Surf, a nonprofit that helps veterans through surf therapy.
Together, Samuel and Payton love to surf, explore, and bring people together through joy, authenticity, and deep connection.
