Water Changes Everything
Sean Bensley – Palm Sunday
· Have you ever passed by a person with a sign that says, “NEED HELP or NEED FOOD” and thought… man I hope someone gets him something to eat. Or a co-worker that’s clearly going through a rough time and you pray, God please send someone to help him.
The person you’re hoping and praying for is YOU!
Matthew 14:13-16 (NLT)
As soon as Jesus heard the news that John the Baptist had been beheaded, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.”
· COMPASSION with NO CORRESPONDING ACTION IS JUST SYMPATHY
[WHAT HAPPENS…] when Jesus CHALLENGES YOU to be a DIFFERENCE MAKERS THROUGH SERVICE?
Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity: Water — an organization that’s helped bring clean drinking water to millions around the world. What’s amazing is where his journey began. After years in the New York nightclub scene, Scott hit rock bottom and discovered a deeper purpose that changed everything. In this clip from The Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast, he shares how that transformation led to the birth of Charity: Water.”
I love how Scott’s story shows that when you say yes to Jesus, you never really know what God might do through that simple act of obedience. Scott thought he was just leaving behind an empty life — but God was preparing to do immeasurably more than he could have ever imagined.
· That’s the challenge Jesus gives to every one of us — to be difference makers through our generosity combined with our service.
· When you take that step, when you offer what’s in your hand, God can multiply it beyond your wildest dreams.
In this next clip from The Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast, Scott shares what happened when he took that step — the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ behind Charity: Water — and how one surrendered life can bring clean water, hope, and the love of Jesus to millions.
