IMMEASURABLY MORE The Blessing of Tithing

TITHING IS A VALUABLE WEAPON GOD HAS GIVEN US TO MEET OUR NEEDS. Malachi 3:6-10 (NIV) “I the Lord do not change... Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... Test me in this... see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Tithing means giving 10%—the first 10% belongs to God and is holy.

Obedience starts with the tithe; anything above is an offering.

The Background Story The people faced drought and pestilence due to disobedience, indicating that heaven, not the world, was their problem.

IMMEASURABLY MORE PRINCIPLES True financial prosperity includes soul transformation. God invites us to return to His commands.

ERRONEOUS THINKING ABOUT TITHING Some say tithing is only for the Old Testament, but Abraham tithed to Melchizedek before the Law. Hebrews 7:11-18 shows Jesus continues that priesthood. We give to honor God, as seen in Deuteronomy 14:23. Giving is an expression of gratitude. 1 Corinthians 10:26 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that God gives us the ability to produce wealth. We give to teach ourselves to trust God (Hebrews 11:6). God is our source; resources should not control us. Generational blessings stem from our godly decisions. 2 Samuel 7:11-13 shows God’s promise to David extends to his descendants, illustrating how our good choices can impact future generations. We give to demonstrate God’s love through generosity.
